Almost a year ago, we gathered for the first time in the home of Kevin and Tracy Rains for what we called a “pioneering” Vespers. Thirty of us packed into their living room, sang joyfully, ate together, and dared to believe that the Orthodox Church could take root in Northern Kentucky. That seed has been growing ever since.

Today we are thrilled to share that Christ the Savior Orthodox Chapel has found a new home – right here in Florence, Ky, at The Gathering Place Church on Dixie Highway. We are deeply grateful for the generosity and Christian spirit of The Gathering Place community, who have welcomed us with open arms.
This is more than a change of address. Our email list has grown to nearly 50 households. Our monthly Vespers have consistently drawn 30 or more people. And we’ve learned that many from The Gathering Place community are themselves drawn to explore the ancient faith. The Lord has been quietly, faithfully at work.
Beginning later this year, we plan to increase the frequency of our services and continue growing toward our vision of a full Orthodox mission in Northern Kentucky – with a regular Divine Liturgy and a thriving community rooted in the ancient Church.
If you’ve been curious about Orthodoxy and live in Northern Kentucky this is wonderful to join in! Come and see…
